Bug Description

ubuntu 12.04 does not have this long hang issue.

See attached straces - one from a machine with 12.04 and one to the same remote cups server using a 14.04 client.

Hello,

I use remote printers over CUPS server and I have the same issue on my computers installed with Ubuntu 14.04 (no problem with Ubuntu 12.04) :

$ time lpq printer
printer is ready
no entries

real 1m0.082s
user 0m0.010s
sys 0m0.007s

This solution works for me : in /etc/cups/client.conf we added /version=1.1 to the server address :
ServerName printhost.yourserveraddress.com/version=1.1
