Bug Description

After several weeks of researching what to do about the update that stopped Canon printers from operating, decided to downgrade to back before the update occurred as suggested in launchpad (sudo apt-get install cups=1.5.2-9ubuntu1). I have Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and although I had updated via both the terminal (sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install cups) and the software update manager , then upgraded per the terminal (sudo apt-get upgrade), the same problems were still there.

If what I read is accurate, there still isn't an available fix for this issue so this was my last ditch effort to get my printer to work right.

Several errors appeared as a result.
