[nvidia] Windows appear blank white after being restored

Bug Description

When I maximize a minimized window, the window appears blank white and hence unusable. Unmaximizing the window makes it display the contents again and after that, maximizing works fine.

Same problem here with identical configuration (as far as I can see):

Distro: Ubuntu 12.04
uname -a: Linux 3.2.0-22-generic #35-Ubuntu SMP x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Architecture: amd64
Graphics: Nvidia driver 295.33

The same problem also still exists in 11.10.

Resizing the blank window (a little bit) restores the contents but it is quite cumbersome to do that all the time...;-)

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Same issue here, a quick un-maximize fixes the issue, happens on everything.

I'm affected by this bug.

I also use Nvidia but am running Archlinux.

This bug just appeared for me today or possibly last night.

I think this is a duplicate of bug 938658, but should not be marked as such unless/until that one gets re-opened. Since no fix was ever formally committed anyway...

Also linking to Unity because it uses special minimized window handling which has been known to cause unity-specific minimized window bugs.
