Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz-plugins

$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu intrepid (development branch)
Release: 8.10
Codename: intrepid

$ apt-cache show compiz-plugins |grep ^Ver
Version: 1:0.7.8-0ubuntu1

After latest upgrade of compiz 'Scale' plugin became unusable. When u pressing 'Shift-Alt-Up' binding and holding it, u see scaled windows. Once u release binding scale window dissapears and u see regular desktop. Its a huge usability regression

I also noticed some other regression after upgrading to 0.7.8, the open/close animations no longer work while focus/shade animations are not affected.

Instead of opening a new bug report, I append this issue here because they seem to be similar problems both related to compiz-core/compiz-plugins, and both caused by the latest upgrading.

After reading the information here: http://forum.compiz-fusion.org/showthread.php?t=9628, it seems to me the problem I described above might not be related to this bug report and it can be solved by reset the settings in animation section in ccsm.
