ccsm: clicking on Preferences > "Reset to defaults" may have some bad consequences when in a unity session, switching Backends likely even worse.

Bug Description
This bug is filed because ccsm remains a very useful tool for many but at the current state of the switch to gsettings Again may present less knowledgeable users with some very poor results.
If this is known & figured to not be a factor shortly then I guess this bug is invalid.
If not then some consideration could be given to making "Preferences" not usable until there is any reason to go there rather then let ccsm get another bad rap.
Test cases:
Create a new user account & log in to ubuntu session
Open ccsm > preferences & do any of the bug title actions, see what happens

It's a little obscure. And it will apparently break your plugin settings. But on quantal there is a simple fix:
dconf reset -f /org/compiz/
