iptables plugin does not work

Bug Description

it seems ubuntu package is linked into libiptc shipped library and it does not work properly:

# collectd -f -C /etc/collectd/collectd.conf
Initialization complete, entering read-loop.
collectd: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/collectd/iptables.so: undefined symbol: iptc_init

# ldd /usr/lib/collectd/iptables.so
        linux-vdso.so.1 => (0x00007fff74111000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 (0x00007f926aa99000)
        /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00007f926b064000)

probably we should use the ubuntu provided library!

for now it is completely useless plugin :-(

collectd-core 4.10.1-2.1ubuntu7 on 12.04.3

note, this is still a problem even if you get the latest collectd source (5.4). I pulled down the latest source and compiled it on Ubuntu 12.04 and still see the same issue.

I can confirm that. Just built 5.4 on a mint 12.04.03 installation and with the iptables plugin loaded, collectd just stops.

Despite this bug being ubuntu-specific, there is more discussion (including workaround suggestions) in the upstream bugtracker: https://github.com/collectd/collectd/issues/326
