in /usr/share/
we have
Exec=/usr/
this does not seem to be standard, gnome and kde applications do not put absolute paths there:
/usr/share/
Exec=konsole
/usr/share/
Exec=gnome-terminal
The chromium way is inferior imho, because it does not allow to put a "chromium-browser" in my private bin directory ($HOME/bin/) to override the default launcher. This is useful e.g. to add additional command line switches, ...
