The bug is still relevant for ubuntu 22.10 (with cheese 43~alpha-1 under wayland) - see attached log. This upstream bug could be a similar issue: <https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/cheese/-/issues/134>

Webcam works as expected with other applications e.g. "GST_V4L2_USE_LIBV4L2=1 gst-launch-1.0 v4l2src ! xvimagesink"
