Bug Description

Lubuntu impish daily install to
- hp dc7700 (c2d-e6320, 5gb, nvidia quadro nvs 290)

testcase: custom, manual with separate /home

In "Manual Partitioning" I shrank last (largest) partition & made new extend partition which contains / & /home.

The disk is small on this box; and I didn't spend much time ensuring I have enough space (I expected it to work though; but will check after this is uploaded to exclude me-errors)

reboot box & attempted again

testcase: custom, manual with separate /home

partitions were already (mostly) created last attempt;

the /home/ (sda5) is unknown; I selected to delete that and create (format) as ext4
the / partition didn't exist; I created a ext4 partitioning using that space.

I'll upload from box the ~/.cache/calamares/session.log

I rebooted impish live & attempted to do it in KDE Partition Manager
it failed too...

Job: Create file system ‘ext4’ on partition ‘/dev/sda6’
Command: mkfs.ext4 -qF /dev/sda6
Create file system ‘ext4’ on partition ‘/dev/sda6’: Error
Create a new partition (8.19 GiB, ext4) on ‘/dev/sda’: Error

size may not be the same - but i didn't expect any issues
nothing in dmesg or journalctl

i may not be thinking clearly today; but I don't see issue/cause sorry

Using same box & roughly the same install types (partitions won't be identical sizes) & perfect install.

Refer http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/424/builds/237817/testcases/1701/results/

- sda1 23.9GB Full disk install; resized down during install alongside

- sda2 20.3GB this was largest partition in 'install alongside' which was shrunk during this QA-test install so following partitions could be created

- sda3 20.5GB for /
- sda4 9.8GB for /home
