Bug Description
I opened this as a caja bug but I think it's mostly related to the desktop's focus ability itself.
Also because this bug is pretty weird(and I've had it for many seasons/
When watching this video please remember that I am only using the keyboard. The only time that I used and clicked using the mouse pointer is at 1 second when I selected a file.
The sequence of keys pressed to make this happen was:
TIME:
00:01 - mouse clicked;
00:02 - up+down arrows (on a full-sized keyboard);
00:03 - enter;
00:04 - ALT+F4;
00:06 - F2;
00:07 - a bunch of letters followed by enter;
00:10 - CTRL+Z
Total video time: 12 seconds
Also pay attention to the change of "whiteness" when I clicked on the image at 1 second, this feels like it's sandboxing. And it's really doing that (as in: you can feel this change also at the user level). Also for this problem to get fixed you need to select a file again via click and the same "whiteness feeling" will show.

I have made an extended edition adding the bonus of what it feels like to "reintegrate into the sandbox" via clicking.
Or, in other words, in how to fix this.
Again pay attention to the shade of the "whiteness" at 2 seconds and also at 14 seconds
Key sequence is the same adding mouse click at 14s and letters then enter after.
