Bug Description

Budgie-desktop version 10.5.2

Ubuntu version: 21.04

Steps to reproduce

Open any app on primary screen, drag it to second screen and attempt to maximize it. The app is pulled/"maximize" to the left / right side of the screen

When dragging app in the second screen, there's seems an invisible barrier in the center of the screen

However, app can maximize , pin side by side as normal in the primary screen

or

set to display on only 2nd screen in Display Settings

Any suggestion to resolve this ?

In Settings - if your physical displays are side by side, make sure you two settings displays windows are side by side exactly not offset.

Likewise, if your physical displays are top & bottom, make sure your two settings display windows are vertical exactly not offset.

I managed to overcome this by switching primary and secondary monitor. However this issue doesn't happen in other distro

Its probably a bug that should be reported upstream https://github.com/solus-project/budgie-desktop

If looks like the maximize dimensions are getting confused between the wider resolution of the second screen compared to the first.

Just to confirm - in the first video you have the two screens in a vertical arrangement. Your actual monitors are similarly in a vertical arrangement?

no longer affects: ubuntubudgie

Yes, there are arranged top and bottom.

Physically I am hooking my laptop to a 34 inch wide screen monitor which supports resolution up to 3440 x 1440

While my laptop resolution is 1900 x 1080

My laptop is arranged to be physically below the monitor and the monitor is desk mounted.

I hope my description is clear enough and sorry for the late reply

Yeah - from the info you have provided it looks like budgie is taking
its primary screen resolution for the window maximize calculation on
the secondary window.

This is a bug that needs to be reported to the Solus upstream github
issue tracker (if it already hasn't been).
