Breeze Dark does not switch application menu/launcher to dark themes

Bug Description

I just did a fresh install of Kubuntu 15.04 A2 in Virtualbox.

When you switch the theme to "Breeze Dark", the text in both of the application launcher options remains in white over light gray, which is very hard to read, rather than what it should default to

If kwin isn't installed (not installed a default package -- a separate bug), the window decorations didn't work but the menu color switching did work. So, I'm not sure whether or not this is a kwin or Breeze bug.

I should also add that I see this in openSUSE using KF5/Plasma2 as well, so most likely it's really an upstream bug, rather than directly a Kubuntu bug

I installed openSUSE Tumbleweed on real hardware (AMD radeon driver) and it worked correctly there, so I assume it would work correctly with Kubuntu as well.

So, it seems to be a problem with either running in Virtualbox or with the xrender software renderer.

The problem also happened on my NC10 using the Intel drivers on both XRender and openGL 2.1 compositing.

The problem can be seen in this article as well: http://netrunner-mag.com/plasma-5-2-review-fire-all-weapons/
