Bug Description

I updated Oneiric this morning and after rebooting the only available choices were my Windows partition and my Precise partition, as well as memtest for Oneiric.

I am unsure of which log to attach but am attaching my dpkg log at this time.

I have updated grub and moved it to my Precise partition for the time being. During the update of grub, I saw that 11.10 was there. Here is the output:

Generating grub.cfg ...
Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-7-generic
Found initrd image: /boot/initrd.img-3.2.0-7-generic
Found memtest86+ image: /boot/memtest86+.bin
Found Windows 7 (loader) on /dev/sda1
Found Windows Recovery Environment (loader) on /dev/sda4
Found Ubuntu 11.10 (11.10) on /dev/sda6
grep: input file `/boot/grub/grub.cfg.new' is also the output
done

For what it's worth, the two packages installed before the trouble started were:

language-pack-en-base
language-pack-gnome-en-base

Both packages show up in the Update Manager in Precise as well, but they won't install. Synaptic reports that the following packages will be removed, which I surmise were removed from Oneiric without the warning.

language-pack-en-base
language-pack-gnome-en
