Bug Description

Binary package hint: libbeecrypt6-dev

version 4.1.2-4 in Dapper.

The README.Debian file for this package states:

Finally, please note that you MUST include <beecrypt/config.h> as your first
beecrypt configuration file. Unfortunately, the author uses a non-standard way
of defining type sizes in his package.

This file beecrypt/config.h doesn't exist (and it isn't needed).

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

Looking at Hardy package at:
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/b/beecrypt/beecrypt_4.1.2-6build1.diff.gz
I can see that we still have:

+beecrypt for Debian
+-------------------
+
+beecrypt is a library that provides a variety of cryptographic algorithms.
+
+Important Notes
+---------------
+Please note that the upstream author returns message digests in network
+byte order. This is different than what OpenSSL does. I have to contact the
+upstream author to discuss this issue.
+
+Also note that his cipher algorithms can only operate on data buffers that
+are an integer number of 'blocksizes'. OpenSSL is able to operate on arbitrary
+sized buffers when running in CBC or ECB mode.
+
+Finally, please note that you MUST include <beecrypt/config.h> as your first
+beecrypt configuration file. Unfortunately, the author uses a non-standard way
+of defining type sizes in his package.
+
+Less Important Notes

So, enough info it there for maintainer to decide what to do.
Confirming the bug.
