tab completion creates empty spaces

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

When typing - for example - cat /etc[Tabkey] this does not show possible sub-directories right away, but creates a whitespace like cat etc/ first. I then have to press [backkey] to move the cursor to the last slash before I can continue.

bash-completion works for me but I'm going to reassign this to the proper package.
