Bug Description

On the other vt, there needs to be a message to tell users how to get back to the graphical vt if they hit ctrl-alt-f# accidentally. The line should read:

"Please hit Ctrl + Alt + F7 to return to graphical mode"

I wouldn't like that, but I suppose it might be a good thing to do.

Should this be rejected or confirmed ?
I think It's a good Idea, as it doesn't harm and can help some users.
To do that, I think the only thing to do would be to add this string in /etc/issue.

As a newbie, I accidentally pressed Ctrl-Alt F2. I had no idea how to get back. I now know about ctrl-alt-f7.

I highly recommend a message be sent to VT or MOTD so newbies know how to get back to their window manager.

I would actually be in favor of having this printed the first time mingetty is spawned on each VT, rather than putting it in /etc/issue. That way the /etc/issue message could stay at one line and the message wouldn't have to be printed repeatedly for users who use the VTs a lot. I'm not sure if this would require a change to mingetty, or which program should specifically be responsible for printing the message, but I think it's a good compromise either way. Bonus points if you can detect which console X is actually running on and change F7 to the correct number, if it is different.

It has my vote. I know new users get accidentally stuck in this situation, and usually end up giving up and rebooting (and losing whatever work they had open).

Certainly a more beneficial MOTD than a joke.
