Bug Description

Binary package hint: banshee

1. choose an album by Old and In the Way.
2. double click on a tune to play it.
3. use the forward/back buttons to go to different tunes in the album.
4. choose an album by Aesop Rock.
5. double click on a tune to play it.
6. use the forward/back buttons to go to different tunes in the album.

What I expect is to hear tunes from Aesop Rock.
Instead, I hear tunes from Old and In the Way.

Krister, Please can you try disabled the gapless option in banshee preferences and then try again?

I disable "Enable gapless playback" and there is no difference.
I'm having serious problems on top of those already listed...
I can't listen to Aesop Rock until I've listed to something else first!
I wouldn't call this Low priority since the player is basically useless for me.

I think the problems might be the same bug though.

I'll make a video so you can see just how bad banshee is for me.

Krister, please could you check which kind of format are those files (mp3, wav, ogg, etc)?

They are all mp3.

I did find one thing peculiar about the Aesop Rock files...
it says "File Size: -1 (-1 bytes)".

NOTE: the problem reported in the bug description happens with "normal" mp3 files (i.e. those that show their file size properly).

I found some other files with attribute "File Size: -1 (-1 bytes)".
They seem to be all my oldest mp3s (probably created by grip around the turn of the century).
They exhibit the same behavior as the Aesop files in that they don't play until I've played an mp3 with the normal format.

These are play fine on rhythmbox (as I write this).
Rhythmbox also parses the file information correctly (displays the filesize, bitrate, etc.).

I'll attach one of the files that Banshee chokes on.

Krister, just one more thing, please could you attach your "~/.config/banshee-1/log" file into your report? Thank you
