Timbo1974, thank you for taking the time to help make Ubuntu better. To help diagnose your problem, could you please insert a CD into your drive, and then run the following command in the terminal: apport-collect -p devicekit-disks 481726

This will collect some additional information for your bug report to help us figure your problem out.

Timbo1974, as an additional piece of information, can you tell us if the problem occurs when using a non-music cd like a program disk? Also, maybe there is a difference in behavior between CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs?

I get the error no matter what CD is inserted, even if the drive is blank.
I've never had a problem with this drive with any other ubuntu application
before.

Timbo1974, just to verify, what is the brand/model of your drive?

Timbo1974, did you have issues with this drive with previous versions of Ubuntu or any other OS?

Timbo1974: No I haven't had any other issues with any other OS. I tried this application a while back with the same results so I just forgot about it. But I hope to be able to use it sometime.

Timbo1974,

I have just noticed that your fstab file has the cd drive mounting from /dev/scd0. I am not entirely sure what difference this makes, but your cdrom device is actually at /dev/sr0. Did you add that entry manually to the fstab? Maybe audex isn't looking for the device at the right location?

No, I haven't added any entries or made any kind of changes manually.

Hi Timbo1974,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 481726

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.
