The crash got when I was running the "update manager" but I'm not able to distinguish how this was due....

Reproduced again in Oneiric (20110924). The specific DBusException in this case, however, happens to be "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied" and the only way I can run the Software Center is as root (using sudo in a terminal)...

does the following file exit on your computer: /etc/dbus-1/system.d/org.debian.apt.conf ? Are there any other similar files starting with the same name? Could you pleasse attach the files if they exist. Thanks

Just got this crash on Precise, attached my org.debian.apt.conf. No, there are no other similar files.

Same here on Precise - aptd crashed just after completing an upgrade and does so after each boot-up.

I ran into this on Saucy after running aptd -d after experiencing bug 1202754. My org.debian.apt.conf file is the same as in comment #7.
