Bug Description
I am receiving the above error message when I try to run update manager. Update Manager is no longer appearing in my side bar and all I am getting is a red circle with white line across it along the top of my screen and when I click on this and select show updates this is the message I get. I have tried reinstalling update manager and nothing is working. Every attempt to reinstall it says it cannot be downloaded. I also cannot get Software Center to open either. Help I really do not know what to do now.

Hi Kath. Please attach your /etc/apt/ sources. list so we can have a look. It seems like the file has invalid entries.
Do you remember editing this file by hand? Or did you used a front-end to organize your sources or repositories (same thing, different name) recently? Or did you add PPA's?
