Bug Description

Binary package hint: apt-xapian-index

This report is comes from apport. Without it popping-up, I wouldn't have noticed the problem.
It is the second time this happens since I updated my distribution from 10.04 to 10.10 Yesterday.
The problem appears when I reload the packages db within the synaptic package manager: the various lists take time to load (depending on the network connection) then the package list is rebuilt. And during this process (I think), the crash happens.
I don't know how reproducible it is. It seems rather frequent, but fully reproducible, I doubt it.
If you need any more info, please just ask...
Cheers.

Gilles
