Appmenu broke an applications menu

See video for demonstration & proof that appmenu broke an applications menu. This happened out of the blue, and it also happened very, very frequently on appmenu-qt (which I had to uninstall because it got so much worse in 11.10 than 11.04 that it was unusable and a major hinderance).
