Bug Description

This is very strange. Since Maverick Merkaat my internal mic stopped working. Now, thanks to a thread in ubuntuforum (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1769886) I discovered that opening pavucontrol and setting the "right" channel to anything lower than the "left" channel makes the mic work again.

The problem is that adjusting the volume of the internal mic with the sound applet locks the two channel again at the same level, and the mic stops working.

I tried in Natty the ppa-drivers and there was no difference.

The external mic works in any case.

Hi Romano,

It looks like your bug is fixed upstream already (there is a quirk for your machine). Have you tried the DKMS packages for Oneiric lately? See http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/UpgradingAlsa/DKMS

No, tested only with Natty. Will try asap, post the results.

Tested right now --- it works. Please push the solution to oneiric-updates.
I will comment this on the (at least) three threads on ubuntuforums.

THANKS!
