Soundcard not detected. Sound is onboard. I have no sound now that I have new hardware. (In Windows I have sound.)

The part above that says 'Soundcard not detected.' was already in the report as I progressed through, following the steps. It is the first time I have used this; I presumed it was meant to be there.
I later tried 'sudo aplay -l' in terminal and it told me what it found - which is what is reported further down the list above.
Afterwards I found I could get sound out of a set of USB speakers by changing output devices in the Sound Preferences.
Still no sound from line-out speakers.
