Bug Description

After installing the latest Ubuntu updates the sound has stopped working. If I use the previous kernel version I have sound so I believe it's caused by the latest Kernel update.

If I try and run alsa it complains that it can't find the modules.

The soundcard I have is an Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02) with a Conexant 5074 chip.

I installed this package and managed to get sound back, for some reason it wasn't installed:

sudo aptitude install linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic
