Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and help to improve Ubuntu.

The error in the log is:

Configurando acpid (1.0.4-5ubuntu9.3) ...
 * Starting ACPI services...
acpid: can't open /proc/acpi/event: No such file or directory
invoke-rc.d: initscript acpid, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error al procesar acpid (--configure):
 el subproceso post-installation script devolvi<F3> el c<F3>digo de salida de error 1

You appear to be running a custom kernel - are you missing the ACPI options in your config?

affects: acpi-support (Ubuntu) → acpid (Ubuntu)
Changed in acpid (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete

I'm going to try to explain with my spanish's English :D

I rented a kimsufi server (I think they are caled also seedbox), and it's factory installed with ubuntu desktop 8.04. I haven't changed any default system option, but I have 2 problems:

1-HAL window error on system log-on:

2-acpi errors in packages installation. I can install all the packages I want, but it seems that acpi's packages have a problem, and any package I install I get the acpi error. It's like if acpi's packages neves finish to install.
I've cleaned the cache and tried anything I found on google, with no luck:
