Bug Description
Binary package hint: acpi
Hai,
I am new to linux. But I found it very appealing, and I have been using ubuntu since Ubuntu9.04. I was using it on my PC. It is still working fine with 10.04 also in the PC. I bought a new laptop, Toshiba L635 S3020. Then I tried to install Ubuntu in this laptop. But it was not even booting. Even on the first screen of Ubuntu installation it is showing errror. It is showing some acpi errors with some codes. And the system will be hang in this stage, I need to press power button for longtime to restart my laptop. I tried to install with acpi=off option. Now I succeeded in installing the ubuntu 10.04LTS. But I am not getting any power related functionalities, like I cannot get the battery status of laptop. I am unable to shutdown. If I try to shut down the system will be hanged in the last screen of shutdown process. And most importantly the laptop is heating up enormously. So I need a little help. It would be also grateful if I can get information, where I could find a solution for this problem.
