Bug Description

There is no tool in ubuntu reposity to change thinkpad (and other machines too) trackpoint. There a tool (in mature developement state) called "configure-trackpoint" and it works quite well for me (on hardy beta). Please include it in next Ubuntu release.

Thanks for reporting this packaging request and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Hardy is already beyond the BETA milestone for Hardy. Therefore this feature cannot be considered within the hardy release. However, we keep this open for future considerations.

Thanks

Can I add a vote for configure-trackpoint packaging? I was hoping Jaunty to include it but I know it didn't make it either.
Karmic Koala could really benefit from a trackpoint configuration utility. It is working wonderfully in Jaunty.

configure-trackpoint is trackpoint specific and appears to require root permissions to run. A preferable option would be to add sensitivity controls to the trackpoint module for the gpointing-device-settings applet which is already packaged in universe.
