The album and artist views look stunning, but I miss a list view as well. On the desktop, I prefer using a list view to be able to get much more information into the available screen space and to easier find the music I want to play. The album art is shown in the playing now area anyway.
For longer album names and artist names, a list view also makes it possible to see more, whereas an album or artist view with cover art will only have so much space (preferably more than now [https:/
With lots of albums, a list view makes it much easier to find fast what I am looking for. I have opted for lists of artists and albums in Rhythmbox (genres doesn't make much sense when you have more than a couple of albums in a genre, and/or there is both a Norwegian and English ID3 genre tag that means the same, non of which covers all the albums I have got in that genre).
I would have to swipe through a lot of albums in the album view to get to Zemlinsky's symphonies, but with a list view, I could just type Z with focus on the Album names list, and I would see all my albums starting with Z in alphabetical order. I prefer this to swiping/scrolling forever through 100+ GBs of music. (A pity that the M10 only takes 64 GB on the SD card. It's half of what I need for my music.)
Hi Einar, thanks for taking the time to file this request! I've added the Design Team to this report. Being able to toggle the app somehow to switch to a listview driven UI could be a nice feature for some users.
