Bug Description

I would love to see a feature to make the backlight less agressive for the late hours of the day. For desktor there is the possibility to turn the screen 'red' and it feels really good compared to normal.

This is a wish, I don't know where to put it else.

There is the option to adjust brightness automatically using the sensor. Did you have something else in mind?

Yes, I thought about something like Andrea Bernabel is talking about. Redshift is something that is realy healthy for the eyes in the night and evening.

This would be great as I find. It is a factor that makes me not use my phone when night has fallen.

Do you think that something like that is thinkable for Ubuntu Touch Pat McGowan?

It may be feasible but this is the first anyone has brought it up
@kgunn do we have this sort of control available?

I tried redshift on desktop, and I have to say it really made the difference at night time.

I think it would be nice to have it on the phone as well, though I'm quite sure this requires works from the Mir team (I think redshift heavily depends on X), which is currently really busy improving Mir itself.

I red on Softpedua news that Apple is also working on such a thing. For health reasons. They will call it a revolution.

Would be great to have auto-adjusting color temperature of the screen like in our monitors (Redshift software). Similar thing is implemented in example in iPhone [1]. It should take our position and set dynamically temperature color (depending on the position of the Sun in the sky).

As mentioned in #7, this is a health issue for which there are numerous peer-reviewed studies to support the idea. Certain spectrum of light are harmful to people, depending on the time or individual.

Ubuntu is about being human, and so the device should always work from a position of protecting the human.

We are waiting for this feature. We already use it in ubuntu desktop and android and like it very much. Please implement redshift functions in ubuntu touch also or make it available as app. Thank you

Nexus 4 is too bright even with lowest brightness due to many ui elements are white (browser, keyboard, etc), redshift would help a lot.
