UT janitor stalls after search

hi there,

using ubu 12.04, 32b, on an ibm t43. been using it on many other compters, ibm t40-43 included, no problem.

here i have the janitor searching for files to clean, I could clean everything but the apt cache. it goes to fileno 2993 and then it stops.

running from terminal, i found this traceback:

had to kill it, nothing else worked.

btw, there are quite a few warnings of type:
