Bug Description

On Ubuntu MATE 22.04.3 when I insert a USB flash drive with an ext2 file system the device may or may not appear in /dev and if it does the filesystem partition might not appear. When both appear, it does not mount as expected. When I attempt to manually mount it the operation hangs, as does trying to eject it. On one singular occasion when it auto mounted and opened, Caja took several minutes to display the contents of the file system (one file and one directory). An identical flash drive with a vfat file system works as expected. Hardware is an ASRock J5040-ITX motherboard.

The ext2 flash drive works as expected on Ubuntu 22.04.3 Gnome, Linux Mint 21.2 MATE, PCLinuxOS 2023 MATE, LMDE 6 Cinnamon, Debian 12 XFCE, and Fedora 38 XFCE systems.
