Menus in Indicator Applet cannot be scrolled

Bug Description
This bug appeared when I updated from Ubuntu MATE 18.04 LTS to 22.04 LTS and occurs consistently on my machine.
When I click on one of the buttons in the indicator applet, such as the power button or the calendar, it opens a menu. It used to show the whole menu, but after the update shows part of the menu and a down arrow as if you could scroll to the rest. However, when I hover over that arrow, it only scrolls down for one frame before resetting the position. Sometimes it does not appear to scroll down at all.
This happens for both Indicator Applet Appmenu and Indicator Applet Complete.

This disappeared after a complete reinstall. I believe it may have been a compatibility issue with the theme, which may have been Ambiant-MATE.
