Bad taskbar+preview interpretation happening at random times

Pardon me for dumping this over here but I am uncertain which module is to blame.

My X session crashed while being unused but had that precious firefox session with a couple of tabs. When I re-logged on and clicked on it's icon to open it back look at the enclosed screenshot for the behavior:

while I am on workspace 1 and the taskbar shows the firefox icon at the bottom hand left side that at the bottom hand right side the firefox window actually displays in workspace 2.

When I clicked on workspace 2 I was prompted with the content of the window and also the ff icon in the task bar.

Going back into workplace 1: all ff references are now gone except for the preview panel.

This happened on my laptop.

The reason I am not opening this as a firefox problem is because using my workstation I also have a very similar same problem w/ Hexchat. as it sits minimized at the top hand right side and is set to only display on the left workspace, I see it's icon on the taskbar alongside my 22 other programs opened but sometimes and only sometimes when I switch to workspace 2 it's taskbar entry will follow over.
