After upgrading to Xenial and GNOME 3.19.x (from the gnome3-staging PPA), the touchpad settings in gnome-control-
This was under X11 using evdev and the synaptics device drivers. It was previously working fine under Wily and GNOME 3.18, and started working again once I removed the xserver-

As mentioned on the email list, we need to switch to using libinput by default. I've not had a chance to look at this yet, so not sure what is required, but removing evdev/synaptics drivers is not a preferred solution since that will affect users that have multiple DE's they use.
