On Firefox 3.6, OS X 10.6.6
PNG attached with the same Wikipedia text in UbuntuHebrewBeta and in sans-serif (Arial Hebrew I believe is the default)
The screenshot text comes from a paragraph halfway down, the problematic rendering being "פְּרוֹנטוֹ" ("pronto" transliteration):
אלכסנדר גרהם בל, מאבות הטלפון, הציע לפתוח שיחות טלפון בברכת "אהוי, אהוי!". ההצעה לא נקלטה, ובמקומה אימץ הציבור האמריקאי את הרעיון של תומאס אלווה אדיסון להשתמש במילה "הלו", שמקורה מצרפתית של ימי הביניים והשימוש בה באנגלית היה נדיר עד אז. בזכות הטלפון הפכה המילה "הלו" לאחת המילים האנגליות הנפוצות ביותר בעולם, אם כי לא בכל מקום משתמשים בה. האיטלקים, למשל, פותחים שיחות טלפון בברכת "פְּרוֹנטוֹ" (מוכן), היפנים ב"מושי מושי" (אני מדבר), הפולנים ב"סלוחם" (אני שומע) והיוונים ב"אֶבֲּרוס" (קדימה).
