Description:
Ubuntu Sans Bold 10pt; 'cd' hinted kerning/tracking does not match surround characters in 'Abcdefgh'; it visually appears be be 1 pixel narrower.

This is using unhinted or psuedo bold.

See the attached Openoffice rendering of: "Abcdefgh ---" at 22 pixels/em in the four styles; 'cd' is still there in the Regular, and the sequence 'bc' in the BoldItalic.

At 18 pixels/em 'cd' is under-spaced in Regular, and massively over-spaced in Bold.

Paul, I have some doubts about OpenOffice calculations for device metrics. Do you get the same results from other applications at these sizes?

Malcolm, Yes. on the web-based font-test I can see spacing issues in the sequence '..bcd..' with Regular at 15,18,28pt (whatever ppm those are...); with Bold particularly at 15,16pt. Italic at 15pt, and Bold Italic at 20,22pt.
