Bug Description
gnome-shell is the default desktop for Ubuntu GNOME.
There have been a number of occasions where core package uploads have completely broken gdm/gnome-shell from being able to startup. Thus it would be nice at a minimum to have an autopilot test that checks gnome-shell is able to run.
