Widgets are too narrow

Bug Description

Alot of content added to widgets (feed widgets in my case) is not fully displayed due to the widgets being generally too narrow.
Make better use of the available screen real estate by widening the content area, allowing for wider widgets. It would also be nice to be able to have a full width widget that spans both widget columns.

I agree this is generally a problem, this is especially annoying for the "blog widget".

PS - Might be better have importance set as "Wishlist" as this is a feature request?

I'd say this should be low, given that Ken and I want it fixed. We're willing to call this less of a missing feature and more of a faulty widget.
