Bug Description
Let's find out what savelog does and do it manually in the scripts instead of adding a dependency on debianutils. This should help if the underlaying operating system isn't Debian/Ubuntu.

Jonathan, is this critical enough to require a milestone? In that case I think the priority should be bumped.
