Turning on and off focusmode results dose not work in ubuntu 13.10

Bug Description

Build: uberwriter 13.10.02-testbuild
OS: Ubuntu 13.10 (Gnomeshell)

Reproduce: Turn on and off "Focus Mode".

Result: Dose not properly turn of "Focus Mode". When pressing backspace, you can get to the top, but you get -8 in "Characters". Also, the "Focus Mode" in the "View" menu never gets ticked off.

When i run UberWriter from the terminal and press "Focus Mode" i get the folowing error:
