Bug Description
I decided to sync my music library. Initial sync was painful (I have really low upload link). But then I discovered, that every time Banshee adds a +1 to "time played" counter to the meta-data of the music file, the Ubuntu One uploads the whole file again. This is ridiculous, as only a couple of bits are really changed inside the file. This leads to an enormous waste of bandwidth, especially when I like to listen to music for many hours a day. This has to be dealt with as soon as possible. Please, add the utilization of deltas to the sync processes. I do not understand the technicalities behind the delta technique, but it is clear that this single feature can give gigantic sync speed improvements.
Ah, now I discovered that "u1sync" is not what I thought it is. I wanted to push the bug report to the team which maintains the sync protocol itself. Sorry for disturbance. Can someone move the report to the right department? I don't want to mess this up again.
