Bug Description
The following bugs address the need for support of different protocol versions in the client and server code:
* Bug #456441 - Support v1.0 JSON-RPC Spec
* Bug #456351 - Add support for version 2.0 of the JSON-RPC Spec
A mechanism for support of multiple versions of protocol specifications needs to be implemented. Depending on the compliance of txJSON-RPC's current implementation with v1.0, we may also need to support pre-1.0.

This has been completed as much as makes sense, given that the two implementations that will use it are not complete yet.
