Bug Description

After successfully installing the Drupal 6.6 appliance, choosing the static ip configuration option will not set all the required fields in '/etc/network/interfaces' configuration file. This results is outside some ubuntu repositories being unreachable. After adding the netmask, network broadcast and gateway settings the networking worked.

The above mentioned bug has been solved, and a fix released.

Could you please confirm that this fixes your problem:
    - apt-get update
    - apt-get install confconsole

The next release of Drupal6 (and all other appliances) will include this fix.

Hi,

Thank you for your response. However, even to just apply the patches a
working internet connection needs to be established. apt-get fails as the
ethernet device is not configured correctly. This might be more do with the
installation step.

thanks
Bikal

I agree - you can't apply the patch if you don't have network access ;)

Just to clear up:

    - The fix mentioned above was created because the default gateway *was* being configured, but was not being saved to /etc/network/interfaces - which would result in the gateway configuration being lost after a system restart.

    - Any changes made to the live system are not copied over to the hard disk upon installation (although we are planning on adding support for this in future versions).

Could you manually configure networking so you could update to the latest version, and confirm/refute if it fixes the issue.

Hi Alon,

Yes manual configuration of the network fixed the issue.

I just want to make sure before I close this bug report (your reply wasn't very clear).

    - you configured the network manually
    - updated to the latest version of confconsole
    - confirmed that the latest version fixes the issue.
