Bug Description

Binary package hint: transmission

I tend to keep only seed torrents with many seeders only until my ratio hits 1 or 2 but continue seeding torrents with very few seeders indefinitely. I don't know if others do this, but i think being able to view the total amount of seeders/peers reported by the tracker(s) is very useful and we should be able to sort by those.

I'm not sure how we can go about this in 1.80.

As of 1.80, we announce to a single tracker in each tier of the announce list. So if we get seeder/leecher counts back from scraping N trackers, we have no way of knowing how many of those seeders/leechers overlap from tracker to tracker. About the best we could accurately do is have a range of [minimum possible seeders ... maximum possible seeders] where the minimum is the most seeders returned by any one tracker, and the maximum is he sum of all the trackers' seeder counts.

Or use the numbers from the main tracker? I believe that's what deluge does

I've left this ticket to sit for a long time to see if more people would chime in on this idea.

Danny, I agree that's doable, and it's possibly better than nothing. But it still seems slightly wrong to sort by numbers that we know could be inaccurate.

You might want to post in the Transmission forums to get more users' feedback on this idea.
