Bug Description
Ubuntu 11.10, Release: 11.10
thunderbird 10.0.2+
1. Start Thunderbird
2. Go to 'Help' -> 'Restart with addons disabled'
3. Create a new mail and attach a pdf-file
4. Send email
Now check the source code of the mail:

The content-type should be application/pdf instead.

Check your mimeTypes.rdf in your home thunderbird directory.
Probably there is a wrong line like this (under <RDF:Description RDF:about= "urn:mimetype: video/x- flv" )
NC:value= "video/ x-flv"
Delete it and restart thunderbird.
Who put that line there is a different mistery.
