Bug Description

System: Ubuntu 14.04 (Linux Mint 17)
Desktop: KDE4
TaskCoach 1.4.2

As soon as I launch TaskCoach, it takes over a CPU core and doesn't let go, resulting in a jump in core temperature as well.

All I've done so far is tweak the preferences, I'm evaluating it and it seems to have what I need, but I can't use it because of the high CPU usage.

In my experience, this is often due to a bug in wxPython trying to restore window geometry... Could you try deleting your TaskCoach.ini file (in "~/.config/Task Coach/") ?

I deleted the TaskCoach.ini, then started Task Coach. It ran normally, without the spike in CPU usage, while I set my preferences. Upon closing, a new TaskCoach.ini was created. After that, I launched Task Coach again and immediately saw the high CPU usage that I reported.

What were you hoping the deletion of the TaskCoach.ini would tell you?

That the problem probably lies in one of the preferences. Could you send me your .ini file (jerome AT jeromelaheurte DOT net) ?

This should be fixed in the latest build. Could you confirm ?
