Bug Description

Three middle dot "・・・" is used as U+2026 HORIZONTAL ELLIPSIS (a.k.a. three dot leader). But it has its own place: U+22EF MIDLINE HORIZONTAL ELLIPSIS.

U+2026 is used for three periods "..." on other fonts like Ubuntu Font Family and Liberation Fonts.

I know it affects many situations and difficult to change, but Japanese fonts are wrong.
Please consider replacing it.

I can confirm this. Takao Gothic uses the same symbol for both the horizontal ellipses (midline and "normal").

- This it not true in JIS X 0208/JIS X 0213 conversion maps. That is valid for Japanese historical font rules.

In JIS X 0208/JIS X 0213, U+2026 code place *must* set as three-point leader that placed at center-line. This implementation are historical constraint. This restriction(and incompatibility for alphabetic/unicode standard fonts) are agonizing choice in upstream(IPA fonts).

Therefore, I regret to say "wontfix".
