"No proxy" wildcard not allowed

Bug Description
In Synaptic's Settings -> Prefrences -> Network, I have configured it to use Manual proxy. I have also added a wildcard for domain which do not require proxy. Now this does not work (it seems to go through proxy for domains that match this wildcard as well). Although if I enter the exact domain name, no proxy is respected.
