when i run sudo synaptic, synaptic segs out.

an other stage thing is that the "synaptic applet"/"update applet" is running. and it is is telling me <cite> "a problem has occurred when checking updates" </cite> (or some thing... it is in Swedish for me so this is an approximation of what it says).
but when running <code>apt-get update</code> there are no problems. same goes when running <code>upgrade.
I even ran a reboot, but no go.
any help/fixes would be good.

Ok this is fixed:
the workaround/fix was: sudo synaptic --update-at-startup
sigh....
